Costa Tequise in Lanzarote is only a short distance from Arrecife Airport and at the time if writing this in May 2023 it cost €22 for a taxi to the resort, which took 20minutes.
The resort has a very relaxed feel and some great places to eat, but also a great seafront promenade ideal for running. This was one of the main reasons for choosing this resort in Lanzarote.

The Paseo marítimo de Costa Teguise starts at the southern end of Costa Teguise and is approx 3km from end to end. It’s mainly flat with a few inclines but nothing to long or steep. There is a red track for cyclists which is helpful when running. It’s ocean running all the way.

It is also possible to continue the running route to Arrecife. On Google maps it does not show the cycle lane that takes you into the islands capital. The route we took was to visit to shipwreck of the Barco Teleman which is just before the main city.
At the southern end of the Paseo Maritimo continue in the cycle track along C. Los Volcanes and turn left into C. Real and then right at the bottom to join C. El Salinero , still on the cycle track. You will pass the Barcelo Hotel.

Continue on past the Barcelo Hotel and then bear right into the small village of Las Caletas. Continue on through the village and you will join the cycle track again passing the port and refinery on your way to Arrecife.

On the way you will pass the shipwreck of the Barco Telamon. Well worth a stop and photo.

There is also a bus if you want to get into Arrecife and run all the way back rather that an out and in run. Bus no3 takes you into Arrecife are you can jump off near the Barco Teleman shipwreck.
